Testing the Tester

If you sell anything at all, it is imperative you also sell it on XStreet SL (XSL).Include all the same information at XSL that you include in your pre-sales informational notecards (which we covered last time). Include the entire instructions as well. I was shopping for a rifle not too long ago – the decision-making process can be an arduous one and I ended-up going with the creator who included the full instructions in their XSL description¹ .

Always include a SLURL™ to your in-world shop. XSL now makes that easy as there is a field specifically for that purpose. Include several high-resolution pictures that don’t include all the sales information – preferably one or two on white or black background and perhaps one or two in the world environment. Remember to focus on the product – not the “scene” of the picture. Also, include links in the description at both the top and bottom of the page that go to your other XSL listings and also to individual products, such as variations of the same product (colors, styles, etc.)²

Please don’t make me click the ‘other items’ from you and have to manually browse your stuff – especially if all I’m looking for is the same product but in a different color or style. If you have a web page or site with high-detailed information – include that link. But, do not leave the XSL listing blank or expect me to go to your web site to get information!³

New blog and retro return….

After collecting some much needed feedback and votes from my incredibly wise clientele, I have decided to focus more on the Gorean builds and products I have been doing for the better part of 2 years now in Second Life.

Gorean Essentials is now going to be the main store name again and when time permits I will add some other builds into the mix. I have to focus and concentrate on what my customers want the most of and that means the other side projects will have to take a back seat for a while.

Everyone head over to www.Gorean-Essentials.com and check out the new blog! While you’re there, bookmark it and make that your spot to check for updates and store information. This blog is slowly migrating over to the new one and will eventually fade into blackness.

Ongoing 25% Discount Promotion

I have decided to use the Gifting Option of the Hippo vendors i use and have set up a Gifting Vendor set in the main lobby.  Then i decided to go ahead and take one more step and set them up for a 25% discount.  This discount is not a limited time promotion, it won’t expire and it doesn’t have any catches like joining a group to qualify.  The 25% discount will remain as long as the vendors are out and anyone can use them and take advantage of the savings – just in time for holiday shopping!

This 25% discount is applied to the Gift Vendors in my main store location only and will not be applied to any other vendor set i have out in the market places.

This is my continued effort to help my valuable customers with their shopping needs.  Spread the word and let all your friends know!

NEW STORE POLICY as of 12 October 2008

I will be converting everything in the store over to ZERO PERMISSION versions. This means that all products bought from my store will be NO Modify, NO Copy and NO Transfer Permissions. Why is this? Because I am tired of having to deal with upset customers who have bought a copy of my products from a reseller and they need to have support on these products. If you didn’t pay ME then I am not obligated to offer product support which takes up my time from customers who have bought LEGAL products from me.

To those who understand and supports content creators, I am sorry for this minor inconvenience but rest assured your gifting options are taken care of with the Gift Vendor which will be set up in the store lobby.

New [OOG] Releases …

I’m having such a good time learning how to use CS3 (been using Paint Shop Pro since version 4) that all my testing has made some new goodies …

New Store Launch Sale!

You do not want to miss this sale!!  To celebrate the new store location I am having a 25% off sale on Saturday and Sunday.  When you purchase items, make a note card and include your transaction history.  Save the note card as:  “Your Name – Store Launch Sale – Date”.  Include your name in the note at the top as well please so i can easily find it.

NOTE I will not be giving any refunds or resends on ‘failed transactions’ during this sale.  This is prevent people from getting duplicate items.  Take your time when you are shopping and let the transactions finish before you move on to purchasing something else and everything should be fine.

We’ve Moved!

Because of some issues with the Land of Hope sim which sprung up, it was decided it’s best for my sanity and the business to move it.  The new home for Essentially Living is now in Hunters Cove XXI with a brand new void sim.  The prims are 1/4 of what i had in Land of Hope and it’s a bit of a challenge to fit everything in, but i think i have it all togther now.

The arcade fell victim to the prim crunch and i had to pick up the displays of the -very- fat  Gothic furniture sets, but you can still find them for sale on the upper floor on the Left Wing.  Elevators were replaced with stairs on both wings and Dungeon Essentials has been moved under the main lobby to the newly-made basement.  Take the elevator down to find all the cages and jail dev kits.

Fishing is out front along the pathway which leads to the other Hunter Cove Commericial sims where you can fish your 7Seas hearts out and catch the custom prizes which are updated every week.  On the other side of the pathway you will find all the outdoor items in a nice little display area.

In the main lobby you will find options to buy the houses with Purchase Cards.  Through the new door to the back of the store, you will find the new prefab rezzing area.  New houses are out on display and once they are added to the rezzing vendor their sales boxes will be moved into the lobby where you can use your Purchase Cards – the rezzing vendor does -not- accept Purchase Cards.

New releases are now on the main floor of the Left Wing so you can easily find them.  Camping chairs have been changed to 2 Gorean and 2 Dungeon chairs as they were the most popular.  If anyone wants the Exotic, Gothic and/or Contemporary chairs, please contact me so I can set them out.

I really hope you enjoy the new location and store layout.  Feedback is always good because it gives me great incentive and ideas to provide a better shopping experience for you!

Update your landmarks by getting the new one when you land in the store and spread the word!
